Introduction And Role in RUTF Production
Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) is a high-energy, lipid-based paste designed for the treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) in children aged 6 to 59 months. It is a "wonder food" that allows children to recover at home without the need for hospitalization, cooking, or adding water, making it suitable for emergency situations.

It is added to a base of peanut paste, milk powder, oil, and sugar to create a high-energy paste that requires no cooking or water.
